So we sat down with their Executive Director, Mercedes Ross, to talk about what Project Bike Tech does and how they designed their curriculum what kinds of career paths their alumni have had what it looks like setting up a new chapter & how you can get one in your community & much more. We set out to try and rip BTR’s new Pinner bike a new one on the sickest cutty turns and sketchiest gaps the South West has to offer. Project Bike Tech was founded to answer the question “what if there was something like high school auto shop classes, but for bikes?” And now 15 years later, they’re operating in dozens of schools across a bunch of states, and are expanding rapidly. The single crystals with high intermolecular organization reveal the intrinsic charge transport properties of BTR.When Payson McElveen rode across Iceland in a single pull a few years ago, he found something in that effort that’s not present in his racing career and immediately knew he wanted to follow it up with something in the same vein. Field-effect transistors based on the BTR 2D crystal can achieve approximately an order better hole mobility than a spin-coated film. BTR started as two guys in a shed, Burf is a South African born son of a bike shop owner and Tam is a Scot from beyond Fort William brought together by fate in the South East of England.
Both ac planes of the two single crystals are stacked parallel to the substrate with high quality, and the electrical properties of the single crystals were explored in field-effect transistors (FET). We’ve spent a couple of weeks riding BTR’s Pinner, a 140mm steel trail bike designed to sew up the one bike solution. 140mm is pretty standard at the shorter end of Enduro travel bikes, and a few of our favourite all day bikes feature that length of travel. By using appropriate solvents and the space-confined method, the morphology-controlled synthesis of one-dimensional (1D) BTR micro-ribbons and two-dimensional (2D) single-crystal films has been demonstrated. The Pinner is billed as a go anywhere trail destroyer, the idea being that it is strong enough to handle the abuse of uplifts, ride all day up and down hill, or even ride a trail centre or two. Single crystals of a well-studied organic semiconductor used in organic solar cells, namely BTR, have been prepared in this work by a liquid-phase self-assembly method. The Pinner is a single pivot, linkage actuated, steel full-suspension chassis with 130.42mm (650B) or 134.40mm (26) of travel for riding hard and having fun.

There were rumours of something full suss some years back, which at. Single crystals have no grain boundaries, long-range order, and fewer traps and defects, making them an excellent carrier to explore the intrinsic properties and structure–property relationships of organic optoelectronic materials. They’re perhaps less well known for the BTR Pinner, a 130mm steel full suss they (at the time of writing) sell as a frame only. If you're open to UK made and cost is no object, the BTR Pinner would be near the top of my list.
